Hey everybody.

I got some wonderful news to share with all.
My cat, Vicki, had her babys yesterday 24.5. She got 4 tiny adorable little furrballs.

I was midwife...! She actually asked me to by following me everywhere, jumping on my lap and down. She wanted me to be with her all the time. and she didnt let me leave anywhere. ^^

That all started on sunday, clock was 12 when i noticed that she didn´t hiss and growl to Sepi like she had done this whole time when she was pregnant. She even licked him and letted him to lick her ears.

Then on 3.30 pm her first contractions camed... And at 9 pm she started to have those more and more. And If i tried to leave, even if i was just gonna go to kitchen and take some water to drink she meowed softly and looked at me demandingly. So i putted tv on and i taked one dvd in and i looked at it while i was petting her gently and marking up her contractions.

Finally at 11 pm she jumped on the couch and shortly after first kitten camed out and i had to help her because that one was so big.
(Thanks goodness that i was covered my couch with blankets and with old bedsheets and terrycloths earlier on that day)

Well.. back to the kittens. 2 of them was a breech birth. one of those camed easily. Last one was the one which i had to pull out. I had warm water that i could keep my hands clean, and help her to clean out her babys. And just in case if some of them would´ve beed cold. I had several towels with me and sugarwater for Vicki. She needed that on one situation when she had lack of strengths. I had soft synthetic resin pipette which I watered her. While she was resting i was rubbign her babys clean with one soft towel.

That parturition situation lasted 30 mins total. Quite fast i´d say... I letted her to rest on couch few hours before i moved her and her babys in her nest. I made safe and comfy place for her on day time. (Bookshelfs lower closet, two doors, i taked one off and covered it with blanket so it would be warm and safer.)
I sleeped on mattress, down on the floor next to them so i´d be there if Vicki would´ve needed any help in night.

Now gueen and kittens are sleeping on their nest peacefully and i hear soft suckling voices. And also tiny little "piu" voises occasionally. ^^

Birth, like love, is one of the wonderfulest things in the whole wide world. And especially when your own pet is wanting you to help her.
